Struck by lightning!

Can I just say, thank god for pinterest for saving us in desperate times!!! Just like this one, a last minute yet creative DIY costume. Last year, we decided to stay home for Halloween and pass out candy to the trick or treaters. We bought so much candy, only to find out that we only had 4 trick or treaters (2 of them were our neighbors) the whole night! We were left with a lot of candy which in the end it worked out because 2 days later I had my family over for a Dia de los muertos celebration and they got to enjoy all the left over candy. This year we will be celebrating Halloween at our friends house with a nice dinner. We still don’t know if we are dressing up but if we do they will definitely be last minute costumes(once again)! In the mean time you can enjoy last year’s costumes 🙂 I was struck by lightning!

My current reading book

I know that I have not been very good about posting my current reads but I promise that I will get better. I’ve been pretty busy and a while back I was feeling very overwhelmed with work and life. I finally had enough and decided to let go of everything that was draining me and relax a bit. I am currently reading for the second time “The Alchemist” by Paulo Coelho just to get me back on track. I love that it’s an easy read and such a short book with a great message! What book are you currently reading? Any suggestions on what I should read next?

“I’m an adventurer, looking for treasure”

“When you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you achieve it”

Hang on there friends we are almost getting to the weekend!

This picture was taken at “The last book store” in downtown Los Angeles, California. Another great place to visit if you’re visiting the city! Definitely a lot of photo ops 🙂

To infinity…

The souls of millions of light years away

How amazing does this room look? Yayoi Kusama’s Infinity room was amazing! We waited 2 hours to get a good 45 second glimpse and it was worth it! This little gem is pretty magical! If you get a chance you should definitely check it out.

Location: The Broad museum in downtown Los Angeles.

Coffee O’clock!

My favorite thing to do on Saturday mornings is to go to this cute little coffee shop named “Taza.” It is about 10 minutes away from my home. I love to sit and drink their awesome coffee while reading or planning out my week. My favorite drink from there is “The Arcadia” with almond milk! It is amazing! Their rustic decor and inspirational quotes on the walls makes this place feel so cozy. Plus they always have fresh flowers in each table! What better way to start the weekend, right? What is your favorite thing to do on a Saturday morning? Cheers to the weekend!

Happy October!

And it is here! Finally October! Although here in California it still feels like summer with it’s high 90 degree weather, I am supper excited for fall! And since it’s the first of October I have my fresh roses, PSL, and a small cute little pumpkin to start off my fall season! Can’t wait to decorate my home with some fall decor and bake some yummy pastries. I plan to get the family out to a pumpkin patch and to host a pumpkin carving mini party after! So far that is on my to do list 🙂 What are your plans for October?

The latest hobby

So lately I’ve been going on long hikes. It’s a love and hate relationship that is slightly more towards the love side hehe! During my hikes, I sometimes (well most of the time!) ask myself “why do I do this for fun?” and once I’m done I sometimes also say, “I’m so done with hiking!” And a few days later I am planning my next one!  So what have these long strenuous hikes thought me? It’s not about making it to the top of the mountain it’s about making it back to your car! And in better words let me just quote Ed Viesturs “Getting to the top is optional getting down is mandatory.” What are your favorite places to hike?
