I have come to the conclusion that I am the worst Vlogger ever! I think I get too excited when I’m exploring that I forget to record! I’m so sorry! I’m so sorry that instead of being able to watch a video you will have to scroll down on this post to see my exploring pictures of San Diego! It’s been a great experience so far! We are absolutely in love with the city and we hope that we won’t have to move anytime soon or at all! hehe! The following are pictures of old town San Diego! We seriously felt like we were in vacation in Mexico! This place is so full of color and culture! Enjoy my pictures!
Ahhh! These past few days have been so crazy!!! But seriously, who thinks they can move to a city 2 hrs away, Buy all new furniture, and plan a party in a 2 week span??? YES folks that is ME! It’s so like me to want to do everything! So I’ve decided to work on the most important things first. We have all the moving arrangements set to go! We have a nice new bed!Yay! And on off time I am working on organizing stuff for the party and poshing (poshmark)! Please remind me next time not to ever do this to myself! lol! Until then, here is a fun picture taken at home depot on one of our many trips there! Don’t I look so amuse? hehe!!!
Please send positive vibes this way 🙂
I thought I’d share a little of our moving to San Diego adventure. Enjoy! We still have a long way to go! Wish us luck!
My January Favorites are here! A little late but they’re here!
Let’s get right into them!
Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert: COMPLETELY OBSESSED! I tried the audio version first because if you sign up for audible your first 2 books are free. I finished the book within 2 days and I completely loved it sooooo much! I then went and got the handbook cover because this book belongs in my library collection! I still listen to the audio here and there, I don’t think I can ever get tired of it! hehe!
Mac book pro: O M G! This laptop is life! I have a Mac desktop but once I got the macbook pro, the desktop has just been sitting in my office collecting dust! This laptop has made my life much easier! So easy to work with! I just turn on the power button and boom lets get to work!
Kat Von D Lolita liquid lipstick: Ok so I have been trying to get my hands on this lipstick for a while now but it has been sold out! I was lucky enough to stop by Sephora one day and they had just received a shipment of these lipsticks so right away I got it! I love love love the color of this lipstick! Plus I always get compliments when I wear it!
H2V youth cell activator: Got this product at Burke Williams because I wanted to try a new anti-aging cream. I apply this at night and I can totally feel it working at an instant!Looove!
Chanel perfection lumiere: I’m the type of person that jumps from foundation to foundation. I’ve always been a full coverage type of girl when it comes to foundations. Yep, MAC full coverage foundation all day everyday! However lately I’ve been feeling like I want my skin to breath a little more! I decided to try Chanel perfection lumiere foundation and it has been my fav ever since! It’s light weight and gives me the perfect coverage! I love it! I use one pump and apply it with my foundation brush and I’m ready to go!
Bobbi Brown translucent powder: Ok so I’m obviously in a light make up type of phase! Well since I countour, I wanted to try a finish powder that would not make me feel like I’m wearing too much make up. I wanted something that was just going to go on very subtle and that is exactly what I get from this powder! I love the finish look it leaves me with. I feel like it makes my countour look more natural because it blends in with everything else!
Dooney&Bourke Florentine Satchel: Ugh! I really can’t tell you how much I love this purse! It was my Birthday present from the BF and I absolutely love it! I love the quality of the purse! Now this is quality! I want it to last forever lol! That maybe the reason why I only wear it on special occasions or on weekends only!
So these are my January Favs! I’m not going to lie, I know some of these are going to be my everyday, all year, favorite all time products! hehe! What are your current favorites?
Here is just a small little glimpse of the hot air balloon ride that we did for our second year anniversary! I really wish I would have recorded more but I had to hold on tight! lol! Plus I was scared of dropping my phone or my camera!
So after all the holiday chaos you would think life would calm down but in my case it usually never does. See, I was so lucky to be born in the first weeks of January (yay me!). This year just like the past few years (3 to be exact) I’ve tend to get a little nostalgic around my birthday. Don’t get me wrong I am always grateful that I get to actually get to see myself turn one more year older and wiser 😉 It’s just the fact that I miss my grandmother being physically here with me to celebrate with me.
The last birthday I had with her is just now a memory that I carry with me. I actually have a video of that day on one of my old phones. It’s me opening the door from my bedroom and her sitting in the dinning room are talking to one of my aunt’s. That day I had asked my mother for us to celebrate at home with a nice brunch and to then go play softball with all the family (because that’s what we used to love to do). In the video my grandma makes a comment of how I’m dressed and I make a joke about it and we both laugh! My grandmother’s laugh was like no other. Every time she laughed, her tummy would go up and down and I always found that funny ( laughing as I’m typing).
My grandmother passed unexpectedly and that day is just a memory I can’t erase. We were so close! I mean, we lived together for 27 years! So celebrating my birthday without her has been hard. It’s actually something that I don’t like to share. When people ask me “what are we doing for your birthday?” I always reply “nothing!” lol! I am so the birthday grinch! lol! I know, I know, I shouldn’t be this way! My grandmother would have loved to be able to make me the happiest girl on my birthday because that is just what she did for as long as she was here with me! Every time I remember or miss my Nana I remember this short quote from a poem “I carry your heart, I carry it in my heart.”
So with that being said the manfriend made sure he made me feel extra special on my day! My birthday started off with a nice breakfast at a really nice vegan/vegetarian place called “Kitchen mouse Cafe.” This place is located in Highland park and it is a nice hidden gem! What brought me here were there tacos but I was not in the mood for tacos so I tried their pancakes and they were delish!
I am so happy to say that I finally visited “Lake Shrine!” And it was beautiful! We actually spent a few hours there since it was so serene and full of beauty.
To end this beautiful day we had dinner at Royce Steak house at the Langham in Pasadena. Of course we did not have a steak! We had their Salmon and it was just so tasty! After dinner we hung out at the hotel’s tap room to enjoy a nice drink and some live music.
And of course because I could not celebrate my birthday without my greatest love, my mother. The next day we went to have breakfast and of course brefecito had to include some cafecito de olla! My heart jumped for joy! hehe!
So Here’s to the big 31! I promise to let go of that birthday grinch in me next year! hehe!
Happy 2016! I’m actually really looking forward to 2016. I will be moving to San Diego in March, so I feel like that will be the highlight of this year! I get to explore a new city! Yay! But until then, I have to work on some stuff here at home. I decided to start this year a little bit different. I started off by decluttering my home and oh boy it feels like never ending! But so far I’m loving the outcome! I am also working on my “new years resolutions,” and on my “10 things I want to do this year” list. Last night I ordered my Erin Condren planner! I can’t wait to start using it! Definitely starting the year very well motivated! What are your plans for this year?
Remember: A goal without a plan is just a wish
Yesterday, my mom had a doctors appointment to get some test results. Although I didn’t want to worry, deep down inside I was worried like hell. Gladly all the test results came out good! My mom was super happy that the doctor told her that she was healthy. Wow! Feeling worried and then hearing that she is healthy reminded me of everything that I am grateful for. My health, my family, and the amazing man by my side are just the top 3 of a very long list. After my mother’s appointment, I wanted to celebrate with a healthy lunch and some Lattes so we visited Cafe Gratitude. This is a vegan, plant based, organic restaurant in downtown Los Angeles. We had a good time enjoying the food, the lattes, and reading their quotes that are featured all over the restaurant walls and menus. It’s funny how the universe works, check out the text on my plate in the picture above. Hehe! For now, I am grateful that I was able to have a nice lunch with my healthy mum. What are you grateful for?

Have an amazing day friends,
Good morning friends!
Here in Cali we’ve been having some chilly nights and mornings as of lately. This morning I got some nice hot tea ready and gave my beautiful 3 day roses a little trim and place them in some nice clean water. I really hate to say this but I think this is my last batch of flowers for this year! My apartment tends to get really cold during the winter and of course we like to spoil ourselves by turning on the heater when we are home. This means we have it on through the whole night! Therefore my flowers will not survive that long here! These past few days I’ve been moving the flowers to the kitchen window at night so that they can get some air so that they wont die on me. I think my other option is placing them outside when I have the heater on but I feel that it beats the purpose of having flowers.
I’ve been trying different methods to preserve flowers for longer periods of time. See, I love having flowers in my home! Therefore I want to get the most life out of them! Let me tell you, It’s work! I like to change things around and try new things here and there but what I try to do always is change the water on a daily basis. Every other day I trim the stems. Aside from all this I’ve tried a few methods like adding a penny and sugar. My cousin told me about adding a drop of bleach, I’ve tried it! Or simply just use the flower food that comes with them when you purchase them. The method that has worked best for me is adding a bit of vodka and sugar! My roses last so much longer when I do this! When I do this I like to call my roses “my drunken roses!” hehe! What do you do to preserve your blooms longer? Any tips on how to preserve your flowers during the winter time? Share your tips in the comment section below! I would love to hear from you!
Blessed are those who see beautiful things in humble places where other people see nothing.
Happy Monday friends!
